Complementary Consultation/Interview

Finding a doula that is a good fit for you is important.  This can be a meet and greet or a virtual meeting.  This is a good opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other to ensure I am the right fit for your family.  I look forward to meeting you!

Phone & Email Support

I will be giving you my personal contact information for emotional and informational support from the time you hire me.  You can call, text, or email me with any questions, concerns or for encouragement.  I also commit to being on call 24/7 to attend your birth from 38 weeks gestation.

2 Prenatal Visits

The first prenatal visit will include helping formulate your birth preferences.  You can communicate what your vison for your birth is, (know that I will support whatever vision that is), what role you wish me to play, and how I can better support you AND your partner.

The second prenatal visit will include practicing coping techniques using a multitude of tools.  We will discuss how "hands on" your partner wishes to be during labor and will "practice" these techniques.  We will also discuss and demonstrate exercises that can be done prior to the beginning of labor to facilitate the ideal position of baby and help relieve some third trimester discomfort.

As a Doula, I  Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks

I will not be providing medical services such as cervical checks, fetal monitoring, etc.

Make decisions for you

I am here to help you decide on a plan that is right for YOU, to give you confidence in YOUR birth plan, and to support you in your decisions.

During labor

You and your partner will have continuous, undivided physical, informational, and emotional support from me.  I will be working with your birth team to support you.  This is available wherever you choose to deliver, during active labor, birth, and immediately following birth during recovery (approximately 2 hours).

Postpartum follow-up visit

One to two weeks following the birth, I will be available in person or virtually to reflect on your birth experience, discuss any postpartum concerns or questions you may be having, and offer any needed help and resources (breastfeeding, newborn care, babywearing, cloth diapering, etc).
